Roaming charges for Verizon Wireless? | |
I just recently got on the cheapest family plan ($69.99) from Verizon Wireless. I'm wondering if I would get charged if I called a friend out of my area code. (Is this considered roaming?) My friend has T-Mobile. This is my first phone so I don't know much about the wireless services.
Answers:
1Roaming is based on your physical location when you are making/receiving a call. With America's Choice pricing (which is what you have if you are on a new family share plan) there is no roaming in the U.S. so you would only have roaming charges if you traveled to another country such as Canada and used your phone.
What you are referring to would be long distance. Long distance is also included in your rate plan for calls placed to other numbers in the U.S. The call only deducts from your calling plan allowance depending on time/day. If you made a call to an international number (including Canada), the long distance charges would apply to the call.
Your call to your friend with T-Mobile will just use airtime from your calling plan.
